Statistics say that we wear 20% of the clothes in our wardrobes 80% of the time. At the moment I imagine that is true for quite a lot of us, particularly if you’re working from home or furloughed, and any special events you had planned have been put on hold.
The hardest working items in my wardrobe right now are my American Vintage t-shirts and jersey tops. I have amassed quite a collection over the years, and they are the most comfortable, practical, and stylish (in an easy, slouchy kind of way) items I possess. If you’re not familiar with the brand, American Vintage is not American and it’s not Vintage; in fact it’s French, with a kind of retro styling.
I’ve been living in my faithful Kobibay T-shirts. The are made in a lovely slubby cotton/viscose mix and have a slight a-line shape which is really pretty. They are incredibly soft and are the perfect lounging around at home t-shirts, but would be equally at home paired with a pretty necklace and glass of chilled rose on the Rue de Rivoli! One day……
This season their newest style, Zeritown, has set my heart beating a little faster. It’s slightly cropped and pairs perfectly with the higher rise jeans and trousers we are all getting used to. It has a soft crew neck and short sleeves. It’s made from a slightly heavier 100% cotton and comes in a lovely old-school washed red. Perfect with a loose linen jacket and jeans or perhaps a floaty, floral skirt.
These t-shirts have a carefree insouciance, a nostalgic nod to simpler times, and will serve you well at home, at a distance, or back at work.
