Forget the January blues and the early yellow daffodils, pink is the colour of the moment!
Here at Attic nearly every box of new stock we open seems to contain some shade of this uplifting, complexion-enhancing colour. There’s a shade for every one from soft blush pink to striking coral.
For early Spring, layering is the key and offers up a stylish way to beat the chill. Take a tip from the Chloe catwalk and go for a long cardigan. It hides any problem areas and looks effortlessly cool. Cinch with a belt for feminine definition.
The traditional mannish suit has been reworked this season, to give a more ‘street style’ look. Layer the jacket over a hooded sweat for instant cool. Add a pretty pink t-shirt - American Vintage have some good ones – or a coral silk shirt, to add a touch of softness. Chop a couple of inches off the length of the trousers and you will be right on trend – even better if they are a geometric print!
Shapes are simple and exaggerated, such as wider or cropped trousers and slouchy oversized tops, with the emphasis on luxed up fabrics in neutral and pastel tones (pink again!)
Of course, the easiest layering piece is a scarf – we have a beautiful collection from our new Danish brand UNMADE. Geometric or floral they come in a paintbox of colours (including pink!) – an essential, I think!
